This is a compilation of every unit's voice lines for the USSR faction in Blitzkrieg 2. The Soviet Union has got a very good pool of units to select from. From Rocket Trucks to the heaviest artillery in the game. The USSR has got some extremely strong units. However, this being a game that continually upgrades your units and replaces them with better ones, there isn't very many options beyond the best T-34 and the best KV or IS. Soviet light tanks are generally pretty bad and are outperformed by pretty much every other nation's light tanks. in many ways, their light tank branch makes no sense to me. The way the stats read, there is a good argument to be made that the very first soviet light tank is just as good or even better than the very last light tank upgrade. That is, you go from the T-26, a very good light tank with a respectable 45mm gun that can effectively destroy light and medium tanks. Then the T-60, a 20mm autocannon equipped light tank. Arguably worse in every fashion except for infantry killing. Next you get the BT-7. Not an extremely good tank. Then you get the Valentine. A lendlease British tank. A vehicle I never replace, because it's better in most respects to the T-26. If you do replace the Valentine, then you will get a serious downgrade in the form of the T-70. Worse gun, worse armor, worse tank. This isn't exactly a massive issue, the Soviet light tank line is not very good anyways. Soviet medium tanks are where they get very good. The starter is the T-28, which is good for dealing with infantry and light tanks. That's pretty much it. Can't take many hits, can't stop hits. It immediately gets replaced with the T-34s. The very first T-34 has a 76mm gun with subpar pen, but good damage. That's the theme until you get the T-34-85, equipped with a mighty 85mm cannon that makes the it one of my most used call ins for the final mission in Berlin. Their heavy tanks start with the hilarious T-35. A miserable failure in reality, but here it's pretty good. Lots of guns, all capable of destroying tanks, lots of health, alright armor. You don't see another T-35 after the 2nd Episode. It gets replaced by the KV-1, which has a strange case of great armor, bad gun. It uses the exact same gun that the T-34 has, but unlike the T-34 it has armor to stop shells, so you have awkward fights where neither tank can penetrate their fronts, so they try to get on the sides of eachother. It gets interesting when they get the 85mm cannon and start knocking out Tiger tanks. This increases with the IS-1, with very good armor, but the Germans are getting better tanks. Enter the IS-2. A monstrous 122mm cannon that obliterates pretty much every German panzer in the whole game. Absolutely hilarious damage and penetration, with firepower that shakes the screen when it shoots. Their artillery follows the principle of increasing the caliber the higher you go. From 122mm, to 152mm. There are performance upgrades between, but you should expect very big explosions from them. Russia gets the best selection of mobile rocket artillery in the game. You only get rocket trucks. Though that isn't much of an issue. Rockets are a quick and easy way to weaken defense or cripple an attack. The upgrades for their rockets increase the power of their ammunition while reducing the amount of missiles per volley. Some could say that the very first rocket truck is as good as the final one, but it's a matter of opinion. The Soviet campaign is probably the most difficult in the game. The final episode in Berlin is full of missions that range from challenging to miserable. Probably my absolute least favorite is the one where allied bombers continually target your largest groupings of units endlessly. So if you forget to micro manage your katyushas you are going to lose them to US bombers. Such a horrible mission.
