If you’re a gamer that loves a little hack n’ slash action, you should give Bloodforge a go.
Bloodforge centers around Crom, a former warrior who gave up the bloody ways of war and settled down to an easy life with his wife. However when his village is attacked by the minions of the gods, and Crom embraces his old self and goes on a vengeful warpath.
I enjoyed this game while high because the story wasn’t too deep or complicated, and the combat system was also simple to understand and excel at: perfect for a stoner. Unlike many of the other games I play, this one just lets you embrace the mindless hacking, slashing, and carnage.
Great Video Games While High: BloodforgeThere are four weapon types in the game: sword, hammer, crossbow, and claws. As you progress, Crom finds better versions of these weapons and gets access to new moves. As the name of the game implies, there is copious amounts of blood. Entire hallways are splattered with it even before you start fighting in them.
Each weapon has several finishing moves, and they are all hilariously brutal. My favorite one is with the sword, when Crom runs the enemy through, then cuts them completely in half at the waist, and their lifeless torso files way up in the air.
The game’s magic system also complements the melee battles well. Upon gathering enough blood, Crom can enter a berserker-like state, and by combining this with the spells you can unleash some serious damage upon the enemies that are swarming you.
The game is available on the Xbox Arcade store; its a quick play with alot of replay value. I completed the story line, but you can also re-play levels and try to improve your blood score. If you want a game that’s a little lighter in terms of story but still has great gameplay, Bloodforge is a solid pick.
