Here we go again, last time I uploaded a Bloody Roar video, I had 2500 subs. While everyone watches Mortal Kombat, I played Bloody Roar 4.
I spent a whole week to unlock Beast Drives and capture the videos TWICE, since I had no clue about the PSX2 settings. And yes, this is a more complete compilation than the 2M views video I saw, but the world may never know. ;)
The third Beast Drives have to be unlocked in Career Mode, which you do by defeating the enemy located at the right side of the map, in the middle (where you fight 3 Rounds on the Dragon Temple stage). Also, you can find Hyper Beast mode in the middle of the third row from the right. You can have only 8 third Beast Drives unlocked at the same time, which is annoying. Then you have to equip the Beast Drive for 8000 DNA.
Press L1 or R1 depending which player you are before selecting a character outside of Career. Note: Any buffs you equipped with also be used, so you might unequip them to play fair.
How to use the Beast Drives, which have to be done in Beast Mode:
G (Grab), B (Beast), P (Punch), K (Kick)
Beast Drive 1: 2x Quarter Circle Forward, B
Beast Drive 2: 2x Quarter Circle Back, B
Beast Drive 3 for most fighters: Half Circle Forward, B
B. Drive 3 Reiji: Half Circle Forward, B (in Air)
B. Drive 3 Long: Quarter Circle Back B K Forward B Down P
B. Drive 3 Long Alt.: Back Forward K Forward B Down P
B. Drive 3 Buzuzima: Quarter Circle Back G, B P K K B B
B. Drive 3 Buzuzuma Alt: Down Up K, B P K K B B
B. Drive 3 Shina: Rotate from Down-Back to Back P (low grab), P B P B B K K
Shina's and Buzuzima's should also work in older Bloody Roar's.
Timing:
Learn Buzuzima's Down Up K version first, so you get a feel for the timing, since you have to be quick. I think his grab combination has to be pressed once the grab hits. Imagine you're typing in a combo, I had to press the K K and B B very quickly in the grab variant to make it work, and do NOT accidently press an additional button.
Regarding Shina, it was surprisingly easy. Press the buttons quickly right after the opponent gets into the air.
Regarding Long, it's confusing because the moves don't connect except the kick, so it feels like he's doing nothing. Don't get distracted by it. Just press the combination quickly and make sure the first attacks hit the opponent, I recommend using the D-Pad for the directions.
I didn't manage to do the Back Forward K version, but it should be the same.
