The short sword combos "Blunt strike" and "Blinding strike" are the only two combos that can be performed with a shield in hand.

What is not as well known is that while more difficult to perform, they can also be done with a long sword and shield.

And since Blunt strike shares an input with the long sword combo Run Through, whether by accident or design, has a chance at a knock down when done with a long sword.

Also, the long sword combo that Bernard teaches you (false edge) can also be done with a short sword and an empty left hand.
