It seems that we've gone with a sort of miniseries here - Gaming with Non-Gamers, FLGS, and now Stigmas. Let's face it, gaming is generally seen as strange, childish, and sometimes unnerving to people. It's unfortunate, but also true. Particularly in board gaming, the need for a solid community is ENORMOUS. While many board games can indeed be played online, a large portion cannot be, plus much of the fun comes from interaction with other players - difficult to get when at a digital table. Finding people, particularly those new to the hobby, can be very overwhelming and, sometimes, even painful. Being a nerd may be cooler than it used to be, but that doesn't mean it's easy by any stretch.

What do YOU all think? How have you dealt with people judging the hobby? Better still, how AMAZING is it when you find someone with those similar interests? Please let me know in the comments!!
