Board Game Discussion - Gaming With Non-Gamers
It's a sadly inevitable fact. In the end, board gaming, like any other hobby, needs new blood. There's a problem, though - how can we GET said blood? There are obviously people who are interested in games who can be recruited, but gaming is COMPLEX and difficult. Not to mention pretty vastly different from many other hobbies out there. You need a different mentality from things like video gaming.
Here, I discuss three major points that I focus on when introducing new people to board games - time, game type/mechanics, and theme. Between these three, I've found it MUCH easier to ease new players into the hobby, or at least having them be more willing to try.
What about you? What are your experiences with helping new gamers? What about when you were a new gamer yourself? What helped you out?
Thanks so much for watching as always!
