Board Games In Action: Cribbage (Ace High/Low Variant)
Norm and Becca play Cribbage. We are not hardcore players, so take that as you will. We are playing with an Ace High/Low Varint, which means you can use the Ace in a run like a-2-3- or q-k-a.
In two player cribbage, six cards are dealt out. One person will receive the crib, which consists of two cards discarded from both players. This alternates every hand. This game consists of two phases. In the first phase you will play out your four cards. You will try to score in the following ways:
1) Playing a card that adds up to 15 or 31 in the running total (2 pts)
2) Playing a card that creates a pair or more (ex. you play a 2, opponent then plays another 2) pts:(2,6,12)
3) Play a card that creates a run, with is three or more cards in numerical order (3pts, then an extra point for card added to run)
4) Forcing a "go" in which a player is unable to play a card that keeps the running total at 31 or less
5) Nobs, which is playing a Jack that is the same suit as the upcard (1pt)
6) Last card; which is given to the player who plays the last card (1pt)
The second phase consist of making combinations with the cards you played, along with the upcard. The player with the crib will be able to use the crib in the same way for extra points.
You score with cards that add up to 15, and also pairs, runs, and a flush, which are four or more cards of the same suit.
In cribbage, you will also score points if you discover a combination in your opponents cards that he did not catch. We typically don't do that rule.
The winner is the one who reaches the end of the cribbage board first. Subscribe to keep up with all the latest reviews and game hunts! https://www.youtube.com/vintagegamechannel #boardgame #ads #ads
