Bop It (2002) Test Mode Audio [HIGH QUALITY] / Shortest Bop It Test Mode Ever!
For those who have no idea what I’m talking about, a Test Mode is a secret mode built into all electronics that allows the manufacturer and / or programmer to access all of the sounds programmed into the sound chip. In Bop It games, one may also have the ability to test the actions, as well as lights and sensors in later models. At the beginning of a sound test, you will likely hear a loud high-frequency beep. That’s called a sine wave, and that tests the quality of the speaker. This Bop It shown here, releasing in 2002, has the shortest Test Mode out of any Bop It ever made! This sound test only lasts 8 seconds! The longest one on record is the retail version of the Bop It Button from 2023, which has a sound test lasting a total of 5 minutes, 30 seconds.
A Test mode also has what’s known as a Revision Number, which tells the manufacturer what version of the unit it is. The Revision Numbers vary, depending on the game unit version and second (or more) generations of the same game unit, as well as what country or language the sound is programmed in.
If you’d like to find out all of the Revision Numbers for Bop It games, including the international and foreign Bop It games that speak in a different language, you can check them out on my website! Go to bopdiva.com and click or tap the ‘Test Modes’ tab. You’ll find all of the Revision Numbers that I can find. You can also see what I’ve done to the website in the new ‘Updates’ tab. It’s mostly for my reference, but you are free to look at it as well.
