This is just a visualization of the depth buffer (also known as a z-buffer, z-pass, etc) that is used by many games today. But doing this on modern games not only makes them look shittier, it also makes them bear a strong resemblance to a particular non-shitty indie puzzle game.
I did adjust the gamma/brightness/contrast in some parts of the video to make it more viewable for YouTube.
I'll probably upload the rest (up to Captain Flynt) in 10-15 minute chunks over the next week or so.
Feel free to judge the gameplay. I'm pretty new to FPS mechanics so tips are appreciated.
