Borderlands 2, Effervescent Loot Guide: Retainer Shield
9Here we have the Retainer. Part of the brand new weapon tier in Borderlands 2 as part of the brand new DLC Pack 5, Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary DLC, the Effervescent (Rainbow) Class
The retainer can be acquired as part of the side quest .... you receive from Vaughn in The Backburner.
You'll make your way to The Burrows and be tasked with killing Sand Worm Queens. There are 2 Queens in total and a bunch of other enemies. Please note the Queens are NOT farmable, once they're dead. That's it for that playthrough.
The Retainer, like most of these new Effervescent weapons has a unique perk attached to it, this shield when equipped alongside the Toothpick will boost your movement speed when in the Writhing Deep (Haderax The Invincible).
It also boosts immunity to corrosive damage, considering that's the main damage you'll suffer in the Haderax fight. this Shield is simply a must if you're struggling defeating the new raid boss.
