The Bose Noise-Masking sleepbuds™ are innovative earbuds that play ambient sounds streamed wirelessly from an app on your smartphone.
Through the app, you can control the sound, the volume, and even set an alarm for yourself. The sleepbuds come with three different-sized ear tips so you can find the perfect fit for your ear. Based on my experience (with the medium size) they go in seamlessly and you can’t feel them even when moving around at night.
They have a passive sound-blocking design that wirelessly streams ambient music synced with an app; the app comes pre-loaded with a library of sounds. You control the volume of the sounds and which ones you want. You can also control other features, like playing music for only a certain amount of time.
One of the coolest features is the ability to set an alarm that plays into the sleepbuds, so only you can hear it. That means you can snooze as much as you want without interrupting your partner’s sleep.
The buds feature rechargeable, silver-zinc batteries. It takes 8 hours to fully re-charge the sleepbuds, but then they’re good for up to 16 hours per full charge.
The sleepbuds are designed for long-term use with a maximum sound pressure level (SPL) output of 70 dBA. This is lower than the World Health Organization’s sound level recommendation.
They come with a 30-day full refund if you decide they’re not a good fit for you. They're pricey at $249 for the pair.
To care, remove the tips from the sleepbuds and wash them with mild detergent and water.
