In the 1980's, two Marvel writers would create the fiction that decades of "Transformers" stories would be based on. In the United States, Bob Budiansky wrote the monthly Marvel "Transformers" title and was responsible for many of the character personalities and fiction that would serve as the foundation of "Transformers" lore. In the UK, writer Simon Furman wrote a separate set of stories that weaved in and out of the events of the US title. In time, Furman would take over the US title from Budiansky.

On August 25 at Botcon 2023 both writers provide a history of where their adventure with "Transformers" started and where it went during their time as part of the franchise.
