From The Publisher: Back in the late 1700’s. Two North-American fur trading corporations compete to expand their routes: the Hudson’s Bay Company, based in London (represented by red trading post cards), and the North West Company of Montreal (represented by blue trading post cards). Players mount expeditions to establish trading posts and earn money by trading pelts.
Columbia is a fast-paced card-management, action-selection game. The game material is composed of cards (expedition cards and trading post cards, both relating to traps, barters, canoes and sales), cubes representing animals and furs (beaver, wolf and bear) and coins.
The game is divided into 13 turns. Each turn is divided into 3 phases. Each phase is performed simultaneously by all players.
The richest player at the end wins.
