Boxed In Release AND Updated Opinion!! ... Now With Full Locomotion!! (PSVR/PS4/PS5 Gameplay)
3Last month I was lucky enough to get early access to Boxed In by Red Chain games, a first person, match three style puzzle game where your objective is to survive as long as possible, matching and destroying blocks that steadily creep towards you, progressively filling the room until your inevitable doom.
The game was fantastic but it had a couple of glaring omissions that stopped me from 100% outright recommending it ... and that was its lack of movement options. With only teleportation and snap turning you often found yourself rooted to the spot especially while you were so heavily focused on shooting and matching the ever encroaching blocks of doom.
Since then though the developers have taken in all of the criticisms (SP???) from reviewers and early accessors and added much needed smooth turning and full locomotion options. But do they make the game better as a result?
