The Adventurer is back as an optional boss in Bravely Second, and stronger than ever before! She knows Meteor and uses Rain to make it even more deadly, a Falcon Claw lookalike that can attack four times in a row, and has her signature Mass Slash. Her Companion still knows how to use Blind, Dispel, and can grant the Adventurer BP in order for her to spam moves! Companions are also protective of Adventurers, blocking all single target attacks. And then, as usual, when one of them is down, the other tries to resurrect them - which goes both ways.

That last bit is where the AI becomes exploitable though. The new Kaiser class has the Winter Storm skill, which cancels all HP, MP and BP recovery - including resurrection types. The Adventurer will simply be caught in its AI, trying to recall the Companion over and over.

Which leaves but the first turn to survive, which is not rough. We are fine as long as the COmpanion does not use Dispel, which he never did the first turn for me. I put so much M.Def on my Knight that Meteor deals 0 damage, and using Ironclad any physical will as well. This would in theory leave us open the second turn, but the AI trap will be up already.

Another thing to note is that once beaten, the battle will begin anew, with whaever BP was left on our side and the Adventurer fully replenished, including the companion. Hence I had to make sure I end the battle in positive BP, taking the first one quite slowly, only to go all out right away on the second battle. The second battle is only different in the array of skills used by the Adventurer, as she starts using all of the deadly ones right away rather than just below 50%. Still, as the AI lock works there never is a problem.
