Brax To TSM Valorant?, #RIPFORTNITE Trends Because of Clix Ban Threat, DOTA2 Bans Smurfing
Brax is listed under TSM’s roster for Stage 2 Challengers 1 in Valorant, and does this mean the end of Hazed with a squad that was missing from Valorant Masters recently? Plus, #RIPFortnite and #ThankYouEpic both trend as Epic Games steps in and threatens to ban professionals and more for placing wagers in a non-competitive setting. And, Dota 2 is the first game and esport to officially ban smurfing, and why has this not been happening since forever?
Brax Listed Under TSM For Upcoming Valorant Roster
Everything came to a head earlier this week when huge name streamer for TSM Myth made a comment about James “Hazed” Cobb being absent from scims and practices for the Valorant team for the org. He’s been a bit of a mystery for a team that failed to make an appearance at the Valorant Masters event held earlier this month. But it seems that the speculation has started to give way to more concrete details, as TSM have listed Braxton “Brax” Pierce as their sixth man on the roster on official Valorant info for the upcoming Stage 2 Challengers 1 event.
As of now, it seems like Hazed isn’t being benched, but more that he and Brax will both rotate and bring different skills to the table when TSM enters back into competition soon. TSM won tons of events earlier this year, being a team that was top of the pile for most of the First Strike tournament series, until they hit a rough patch earlier this year and failing to show up during the Valorant Champions Tour. While most teams would have imploded and looked to retool the entire roster, instead, it seems that TSM are going to focus more on adding one more tool into the toolbox for the team to compete with, since they already have a strong core of Wardell, Drone, and Subroza.
#RIPFORTNITE and #THANKYOUEPIC Trend After Epic Threatens Clix Ban for Wagers
Epic is on the war path right now when it comes to betting in game, even when it is outside of competitive situations. And it seems to be leaving the Fortnite community split (as it seems to usually be) on how Epic Games is tackling the issue of betting on various challenges or skill competitions in Fortnite’s “Creative Mode” which carries no thread of competition or officiallity. And since placing bets on wagers is a way that lots of professional streamer and competitive players pass the time, it is kind of a big deal.
DOTA 2 Smurfs Banned By Valve
Smurfing is a pretty terrible problem to encounter in a game, since it means that somebody of a much higher skill level created a new account in order to be able to compete (and just beat up on) players of a much lower skill level for the sole reason of just stomping people in games. It’s the most infuriating thing to encounter as a player outside of hackers and trolls, so it’s something that can absolutely ruin a player's experience with a game. And it isn’t something that exists in just a single title; any game with some form of competitive ranking or ladder system encounters smurfs who just want to flex their skills on players who are objectively worse than them instead of playing against people of their own skill level and winning that way.
