Breath of Fire IV LLG Part 03 - Khafu, Ymechaf, Sparrow
5Starting up another battle with Fou-Lu: Khafu is quite a bit tougher then what we fought till now, and I had trouble beating it at first. As I got the SuperVitamin from the first part and know about its attack order, this works out easily though. As for its order: First turn is EldrichFlame, as is every 3rd turn after. While you would think guarding would not reduce damage from it, it does, so while Khafu has high HP it is critical to guard. EldrichFlame will get weaker with damage taken by Khafu. When Fou-Lu gets near critical, the SuperVitamin kicks in, and that's that.
Total EXP gained to Ryu: 28 spillover at level 2 (getting to level 3) + 1 from boss, no random battles.
Ymechaf is again easy. He has a fatal weakness: if hit by a combo attack, he looses balance and will not attack for this move. The next attack against him will restore his balance, though, so some good combo attacks have to be done to deplete its HP and simply be safe. Some Protects on Nina as she is to survive and Rainbow Trouts on Cray to deplete the 6000 HP boss has to offer. Ninas damage to finish him off will be the main problem, Sever is not that great any more. But as I was keeping track of Ymechafs HP here, this worked out quite good again.
Last battle shown: Sparrow. Well, not a real battle, as there is a hidden feat about it: This boss can flee and leave behind a Bamboo Rod. Not only do we want that Rod, but not getting EXP, getting EXP. I steal a Bird Drop at first, not as if Nina needs a Master for stats anyway, and then just defend. Sparrow flees after about 14 turns. Yep, that's it.
