Broken Solace Ep 3
0In the darkness… you feel yourself. You feel… something else. It was the smell that woke you first. Within the darkness, you see not. But you feel plenty. The cold bite of metal upon your wrists and ankles and chest and neck. You are suspended. You can feel the weight of falling against the shackles on a ceiling of something. As you sway you can feel the movement of wherever it is that you are. It is bumpy. You can feel the grain of wood. You can hear the echo of stone and down below you, you see nothing but darkness and then… a pair of lights appear below. They shift and they change. Moving together and then another pair and then another. You can feel it. Their eyes upon you, hungering, waiting, ready and then… an explosion of light above your head as the door to the carriage opens and for just a brief fleeting moment the shadows of wolves beneath you waiting to feast upon a hero’s blood. The iron shackles that hold you in place open. You fall towards the wood. Regretting that pain was not one of your slower senses to return. As you get up and step out into the light, you appear upon the icy rocks beneath a baleful wind and falling snow.
