This is it, folks! The 23rd’s final mission. After the team has gained a hefty praise from Bratton, they are assigned for one more mission. Take down the Shrike outpost and finish off the ugly bastards once and for all before they start their invasion of Earth. Of course it’s not gonna be easy, though, because the Shrikes are gonna fight tooth and nail just to prevent Brute Force from thwarting their plans, and that includes the leader, the Hunter Lord. Once the squad get these pests out of the way, it’s time for them to clear out and finally go home alive and rich. And Bratton does not have to worry about warming anymore cloning bays… Well, for now at least.

Despite the fact that this is the final level, I really hate how cheap it turned out to be. Every single enemy will resort to cowardly tactics like having some Shrike units mounted onto places where they can pelt your squad with rockets and sniper slugs, and believe me, you’re gonna have a hell of a hard time trying to avoid taking a lot of damage no matter what you try to do. Oh, and the level is littered with turrets as well, so you’re gonna have to use your sonic weaponry a little more wisely. If you think you would have a good supply of medkits in this mission, you’re totally mistaken, because you’re gonna be hurting for a few if you haven’t learned how to manage your squad in dangerous situations where they would be put at low health if not careful. At least there’s a bit of exploit involved. You’re gonna have to make sure the area’s clear of rocket + sniper troops, and turrets. Remember when the Shrike doesn’t attack immediately and charges in after they get zapped in? Blast them before they get close to the point where they can start shooting you. The Hunter Lord battle is also a huge pain in the tush. It’s just a minigame of hide and seek combined with the chaser having the rocket launcher, which is the Hunter Lord himself. He cannot be hurt because his shields are being generated by the devices on the other side of the area, which you’re gonna have to destroy. The best thing you can do is to take Hawk and Brutus and use their abilities to gain any sorts of advantage of what’s in your way while avoiding the Lord’s rocket attacks from above. And what’s that? I didn’t get the cash medal after completing this?? Oh well! At least the game is finally beaten on Hard. I’ve gotten all of the DNA canisters and unlocked all of the characters in deathmatch. I guess that matters too, right?

Now that I’m finally done with Brute Force, time to put out my opinion toward the game out in full display. Not totally worth being a “Halo killer,” but at least it’s decent at best. The squad system is well done and with the right mind behind it, it can be pretty fun and useful whenever you try to approach any situations strategically. I really like how each member of your team has their own specific abilities that you can use for your advantage, and that's one of the best ways to gain the upper hand against your enemies in combat. The gunplay is where the game faces it’s downfall with most weapons being projectile-based with disproportionate aiming where the shots don’t even follow where you’re cross hair is pointing at occasionally. I also can’t forget that many enemies in this game are absolute bullet sponges, even the weakest variants don’t know when to eat dirt. Another huge complaint I have for this game are some levels having ridiculously long lengths that are placed in chapters, and you can totally see that a few levels I did in this playthrough take an hour and nearly a dozen minutes to complete, especially when you’re taking it slow to keep all of your squad members alive. Would I recommend this game? Well, only to those who’ve grown to like it back when they took the time to play it and learned a thing or two about it’s most important mechanics. All in all, you’re kind of better off playing a superior OG Xbox exclusive title over this, especially the one that this game's trying to bank over.
