Bubsy - Easiest way to get faster than 32 pixels per frame

Going 32 pixels per frame is very fast - that's a screen every 7 frames or 8.57 screens per second. Normally, you'd peak at 15 pixels per frame and stop. With gliding, this can be increased to well beyond 15. Trouble is, even with as much height as the forest world gives, you still can't get faster than just 20 pixels per frame. The solution? Eggs! There isn't anything better than eggs for extreme height and it's height that allows for it. Take note of what Bubsy says in chapter 2's title. This video demonstrates two techniques to get faster than 32 pixels per frame. The first technique is a faster way to reach these extreme speeds, but you have the risk of landing instead of bopping the eggs which makes it difficult to get much beyond 36 pixels per frame. The second technique is a time-consuming one but it allows for unlimited speed. Instead of having to memorize timing and even more positions, you only have to hold glide all the way through. If you bop the eggs at 32 px/fr, you'll actually get 32 pixels higher every time (taking 16 seconds per bop) and that extra height allows for a very slight amount of extra speed which in turn leads to even more height. It took me 3 days (yes, leaving the system on overnight) to reach my record of 95 px/fr. I reach 32.5 pixels per frame in this video and there is another case of reaching 31. Once you pass 32 pixels per frame, drawing errors occur. This can be done with both the SNES (shown) and Genesis versions. It's getting these extreme speeds that keeps me at this game for so long, 3000 to 4000 hours.
