Building a new VIDEO EDITING RIG with cheap used parts! Big results on a tight budget! Save $$$ BIG!
With the current state of the world, most of us cant afford to spend $3000 on a new computer, here's how you can get 90% of the performance on 10% of the budget!
Parts used
Corsair gaming ATX tower
Corsair CX750 power supply
Asus Z97 motherboard
Intel i7 9770k processor
Nvidia GTX 750ti video card
20 Gb mix and match RAM (2x8Gb + 2x4Gb)
Samsung 860 EVO SSD hard drive
Western Digital 14TB HDD (removed from an external enclosure)
Seagate 8TB HDD (removed from an external enclosure)
Seagate 4TB HDD (recycled from old computer)
Seagate 3TB HDD (recycled from old computer)
NOT MENTIONED IN VIDEO
PCI USB 3 controller card (adds 4 USB 3 connections)
Dual-band wifi card
While these specs pale in comparison to the huge gaming rigs of today, this setup allows you to spend maybe $300 plus adding a few bits and pieces from your old computer. The nice thing is, if you want better performance, you can add a better video card, or additional RAM without replacing the whole computer.
