My build of the Ground-effects JPS Lotus 79 in 1/20 scale.
An excellent kit to build and great representation of the title-winning car of Mario Andretti and Ronnie Peterson from 1978.

This car changed F1 designs and aerodynamics for ever, the Brainchild of Tony Rudd, Peter Wright & the brilliant Colin Chapman, it created downforce (therefore extra grip) from the air passing beneath the car's body and harnessing it by trapping it through a shaped venturi gap aided by side skirts preventing the air escaping, and evacuating the (now low-pressure) air out the back via both sidepod diffusers. This made the 79 have much higher cornering speeds than its rivals.

Music: 'The Blue Danube' by Johann Strauss II.
