Let’s be honest, the Level Instance Device is as much a game changer as it is an exercise in frustration. I should move past the name, of course… but I won’t. This is a name made by Developers, and I say that with the utmost respect for their craft. I’ve seen this sort of thing before and a Developer naming a module is about as useful as… well… me trying to name a YouTube video -it’s gonna lack excitement, clarity, and usefulness.

Beyond that, though, you have a device which will only accept object that meet certain obtuse criteria, none of which are reflected in the device notes. You can, for example, only place an object directly from inside a gallery, you can not place the gallery. It took me a LONG time to work this out. It also can’t handle devices well, which is understandable, but could be handled a lot better. It also limits its functionality a fair bit.

But when you’ve wrestled with it for a little, you might come to love it. Like when you want to build a tile, or series of tiles, to make big areas of a map quickly. Which is what I’ve done here with three quick examples. You could, of course, make yours look a lot better if you take your time, but hopefully this will give an idea of its usefulness.

Please like, comment, share, and subscribe, and if you want to support the channel you could use Code Geekly in the item store. Or click on some of those YouTube adverts.

Thanks.
