A couple of errors we made would have made the game harder.
1) Repairing would have taken an action. So we would have needed 6 more actions, some coming at very inopportune times.
2) Never came up, but we mentioned it a lot. Captains always patrol even if in a room, where guards don't patrol unless someone is in their room. (may have happened if Peter didn't kill them all)
