C64 Game - Xiphoids
Another impressive and rarely heard-of CP Verlag release, with a cracking soundtrack!
"Welcome to the realm of evil, friends!
You imagined this inhospitable place quite differently, right? Well, the idea of a big boiler, in which the poor sinners have to braise, has long been outdated and must finally disappear from your heads.
In 1992 AD the horned devil with a horse's foot has long been retired - whoever gets it now, who is lowered into the depths of madness with a cabin glider and has to assert himself there. . .
A labyrinth of unknown proportions is expected to be searched by you.
With the small cabin glider you can move around in the cave passages relatively comfortably, but the craft is poorly-armed against rays in general and skulls in particular.
In order to raise the energy bar again, the energy symbols (marked with an "e") must be collected ("Glider on it and button!").
You can fill up properly on the icon with the two arrows. If you fly into the field, hold the fire button and pull the joystick to the right, the one-man ship is charged. If you hold to the left, however, the energy reserve will discharge and the devil will have one more soul.
The confusion is worsened by the teleport fields scattered all over the labyrinth, with the help of which the player can be taken to another, completely unknown location.
The energy barriers that lead life-consuming screw jets and always only allow the way for a few seconds are tricky.
Magnetic fields are usually found in the vicinity, pushing the cabin glider into the danger zone.
There are so many different things to discover in XIPHOIDS that it would be mean to reveal everything here in the instructions.
Plug in your joystick and take yourself on a journey of discovery.
One thing is guaranteed: even inexperienced players can easily venture into the underground adventure. That can only open a locked gate with a hidden key is understandable. The situation is similar with all the other secrets.
INDIANA JONES did not have a guide when he entered TEMPLE OF DOOM. However, he did not have to do without an exciting adventure (precisely because of this?!). May it be the same for you here.
Have fun!"
