Shades of Arc/Nodes of Yesod and Monty on the Run. The main character reminds me of the one in Starquake, maybe with a bit of Thing on a Spring. Anyway, this is the “take it easy” playthrough with no sprite collision. It covers getting all 128 gems (instead of the default 80) and visiting all locations, some of which you have to visit several times to get all the gems, such is the devious design. The far-left area of the map you have to visit about 5 or 6 times while leaping over all the pixel-perfect-placed enemies. So screw the sprite collision unless you want a brain aneurysm. It only has 64 screens but it’s a cat’s cradle to figure out. I paused at moments in order to consult the map, marking off the gems I collected on the way.

The 1990 version of this has music by an unknown musician, no in-game music (just some initially charming but eventually annoying sound effects). This version has a scene at that makes the obtaining of one of the gems impossible so this was fixed in the 1993 version. Of which has different music, too.
