Despite having a strange name (and indeed a much stranger premise) Cactus McCoy is a gem among games. It has everything a great game needs, beautiful graphics, catchy music, and above all, interesting gameplay.

The first level of Cactus McCoy was the standard and simple tutorial level. Granted, it was easy and few of the challenges were of any actual difficulty. The second level places you in a prospector mine though, and things start to become interesting.

The enemies here are pretty much just as simple, button-mash attacks will pretty much dispatch them fairly quickly. There are, however, more enemies (or enemigos as the game puts it) here that use projectile attacks, so you have to be a bit careful about that. Still, there aren't any that will pose any real challenge, and it's fairly easy to get through the entire level without taking a single hit if you play carefully. At times, you'd have to actually try to get hit in order to get damaged. But there are no rewards or challenge-rewards for that, so why bother. Speaking of challenges, like the first level, there are five challenges for you to grab.

The first, the Firefighter challenge, can only be completed after beating the boss section. To get it, you have to beat the final bosses, which will unlock a previous room allowing you to get the Squirt Gun. Because you get the gun at the end of the level, it's a very simple matter to go on back and find all ten of the torches to squirt out.

The second, Impatient Miner, should only be done after you've gone through the level a few times. That way, you'll be familiar with the level enough to speed through to meet the 1:30 limit. To do it, you're going to have to ignore all the enemies, all the treasures, and instead speed past everyone without taking a single hit. Even the slightest damage can add a second to your time, and every second, every millisecond even, counts a great deal when getting this challenge.

The third challenge can be a bit tricky. The Bare Knuckle Brawl requires that you take out all of the enemies using only your fists. Granted, the enemies are all pushovers, but it can be tempting to try out the many new weapons that appear in the level. My advice would be to do the level twice, once to try out all the new weapons, and a second time to get this achievement. This works in your favor though, as you're probably going to be doing the level multiple times anyway, as some of the challenges pretty much cancel each other out, making it impossible to achieve all of the challenges in a single run unless you happen to be some amazing deity of gaming.

The fourth requires that you break 5 crates by throwing them at enemies. This can be difficult if you're not used to aiming the crates, but if you had enough practice on the first level, then this is just a matter of timing. It's easiest to do this with a long weapon like the shovel. Don't even bother trying this with projectile weapons if this is your first time around as you'll most certainly lose the enemy. It's certainly possible, but it takes far too much effort for too little reward. Take the easy way, and you'll get the challenge quickly enough.

Perhaps the trickiest to achieve though, is Keep it Going. Normally, when you defeat an enemy, they'll fly up into the air, and then fall offscreen. You can, however, keep hitting the fallen enemy to get more coins out of him. To get Keep it Going, you have to hit the enemy five times after he's gone down, maximizing the amount of time it's in the air. The best way I've found to do this is to alternate between hitting from the left and hitting from the right. Focus too much on one direction, and the enemy will fall off-screen pretty soon.

Lastly, there are the treasures. These are a bit harder to find than those on the first level, but are still easy enough to get to. Some are easy to miss, and others are straightforward. Enough exploration should allow you to easily find them as they aren't all that well hidden on this level.

Well, that's about it, stay tune for the next level!
