Call Of The Zone - #459: The Sum Of All Fears
Please see and read the lengthy description of the two previous video, to understand why I am reloading a manual save and attempting to redo events for a better outcome. This video actually starts at the end of the previous video, but I reload my save made in the middle of some of the events shown in the previous video. It is right after the Ecologist has killed the two Bandits. When the scenario starts again, the Ecologist leaves the doorway and runs over to the Bandit he killed by the manhole. No sooner does he get there, when an unseen Bandit shoots him, and he drops in the hole.
I spot the third Bandit and he was actually closer to the Mercenary Base when he shot the Ecologist to the south. I see him run to where the Ecologist fell. I step back, determined not to let him see me and I check my PDA relations which are still good. I very carefully peer over the eastern side and find the third Bandit walking over the piles of rubble at the damaged two-story building. To my surprise he actually goes north, goes around the corner and walks eastward down the road where he came.
Behind the Abandoned School, I see some blind dogs runn9ing circles around an unarmed Zombie. The third Bandit passes the burner basement and stands on the corner of the road going behind the Abandoned School. I hear gunfire and find the missing fourth Bandit who is now dealing with the blind dogs and Zombie. I continue watching with my 7.5 magnification binoculars. The Clear Sky member, still safely inside the Party HQ says he hears some 'fucked up noises' at the Abandoned School. When I look again, I find the Zombie is walking slowly, as if whatever threat he was dealing with is no more. Is the Bandit dead? I don't see the other Bandit on the street corner anymore.
I go down the ladder and run across the plaza and go inside the front of the Party HQ building, going up the atrium stairs to the second floor and then down the main hallway to connect to the stairs going to the roof. From the roof I look eastward towards the Abandoned School. I look at the last known position of the Bandit by the burner basement but see no men and only one blind dog. I go down the stairs and run across the street, going in the front entrance of the Abandoned School. Going down the hallway and out the back door I find the blind dog that charges me and gets zapped in the electrical anomaly field. Then the Zombie does the same. I use my Svarog to navigate the electric field and on the other side I find the third and fourth Bandits dead. I loot them and then return to the Mercenary Base. Finally, a good outcome with no damage to my Faction relations.
I am on the first floor briefly and then I go up to the second. I am standing around quite pleased with how things turned out, when way off in the distance, to the far south, by the hill near the fence line I see three Bandits walking north-west towards the Abandoned School. Great. I barely had time to enjoy myself when all is in peril again. I go outside and get halfway up the ladder when I hear the rumble of an approaching storm. I go back inside and get the message to seek shelter for an Emission. For reasons unknown, one of the Mercenaries inside the safety of the Base, decides to run across the plaza and stand in front of the Party HQ. I think he might turn into a Zombie, but he does not.
The emission ends and the Mercenary who had left, turns around and is walking back to the Base. I spot movement in front of the Abandoned School and see the trench coat Bandit behind the bus stop in front. he must have seen me because my visibility meter goes up and I move to the rear behind the crates and boxes. When I look again, the Bandit is running across the plaza looking at us and I have no choice but to shoot him. I try to shoot him in the lower legs to wound him, but I kill him instead. I jump down to go loot him and then return to the Base.
I don't know where the other two Bandits are, and I it feels like déjà vu of recent events. Suddenly the Psi Storm siren goes off and the same Mercenary runs back to the Party HQ. This is the event I've been waiting all week to happen. A simultaneous Emission and Psi Storm, so I could leave Dead City and at least have 12 hours to pass through the Army Warehouses, enter the Radar level and take my 20 Companions to assault the Brain Scorcher. I look across the plaza to see the two Mercenaries standing there, both looking up to the roof. At the top of the roof is one of the missing Bandits. I shoot once at him but then realize the Psi Storm may get him. I continue watching but it does not happen.
There's a message that a Bandit killed a Bandit but that does not make sense since there is only one missing Bandit and the other one is just standing on the roof of the Party HQ. I realize that I need to stop waiting for something to happen. A fog rolls in after the Psi Storm ends, and I need to leave Dead City and not await that outcome.
