Call Of The Zone - #464: X-19 Don't Go Back To Loot
Being forced to race to shut down the Brain Scorcher in 5 minutes, meant I was unable to bust all the wooden crates I passed, bust open the white capsules, grab all the mutant body parts and loot all the Monolith I killed on the way out. I was having trouble with all my Companions following me, so when I got to the escape or exit door, only two of them had been able to keep up with me. I thought no problem, now that I've reached the end and made sure there were no Monolith remaining. I'll simply turn around and go all the way back to the Control Room and do all these things along the way.
I had 13 remaining Companions, only one had been killed by the Monolith when we were fighting our way out, so I started my trip back slowly, finding all the wooden crates, capsules and bodies I missed, when I noticed a Snork inside that I don't see how I passed. Then I heard the groan of one of my men dying and I checked their status on my PDA. So, I quickly looked at my PDA and to my shock I saw I only had five Companions remaining, then there was four by the time I got to the Control Room. What was happening?
I started back and came across rodents. Then I met a Controller going up the stairs. Then I was attacked by Pseudodogs. When I rounded the corner and looked down the passage, I saw all my dead Companions where they had been killed by the unexpected arrival of mutants. I did not expect this and did not want to lose all of them this way. I decided to end the video and go back to when I had reached the exit, and just accept that I would not get to do all those things that I mentioned, and it was time to leave. I guess if you are alone, without Companions, then none of this matters, as it is a lot easier to keep yourself alive than finicky Companions that have trouble following the Player in Underground Labs.
