I had already completed the X-18 Lab mission, with the exception of taking the document I found back to Dushman, the Mercenary leader in Dead City. Even though I had intended to go there after our recent trip passing through Darkscape, Cordon, Marshes and the Agroprom, where the Boys being overloaded with loot, cut our trip short. I had planned to pass through the Wild Territory and briefly through Rostok and the AW, to end up in Dead City, to get my reward for the X-18 mission.

Then the thought crossed my mind, what would happen if I didn't get my reward from the Mercenaries, and I was still carrying the document in my inventory? I thought I would wait for that to happen but being controlled by random forces ( chance, luck, fate ) the DFR may make me wait a long time for that to happen. If I was made to wait too long, of course I planned on getting my reward from Dushman.

However just now in this video, after the Emission, where a lot of Mercenaries in the Dark Valley got caught out in the open and were zombified, the DFR made a sweeping change. The Mercenary and Bandit Factions are now at war, and all PDA tasks given by Mercenaries failed. The X-18 Lab mission failed, because Dushman never got his document in time for it to be complete. The mechanics in Call of the Zone, simply makes the document in my inventory vanish, and I have a message to see General Voronin in Rostok.

Does this mean I have to do the entire X-18 mission over again? If so, no complaints from me. Will the level replenish as if new and the first time visiting? Or will it be empty of both mutants and supplies because technically I've already been there in this Game?
