218Grand Kingdom is a gorgeous side-scrolling Tactical RPG, made by MonoChro and published by Spike Chunsoft & NIS America. It features a nice faux hand-drawn 3D visual style, quality music, and a fairly deep battling style that stands apart from other games in the genre. Kinda like if you took the standard battle system from FFX, but added positioning, cover, and a short quick-time event for extra damage (like legend of dragoon). It's hard to describe, but it's a lot of fun!
After the collapse of the former Empire,
the Four Great Nations of Resonail wage a war of supremacy over the continent.
Leading your own mercenary squad, you will dive into the heart of battle.
Travel distant lands rendered in beautiful 2D art,
and use your personally-trained mercenary squad to improve your military gains.
Take part in an exciting single-player campaign as you unravel the mystery behind the Uldein Empire's collapse,
or play online and participate in continental warfare between the Four Great Nations.
