(POST UPLOAD EDIT) Turns out hitting an enemy from behind counts as a counter hit, which also means they take 20% more damage, according to the developer. The game is still in alpha and doesn't have a tutorial yet, but it will be developed with time.

Pay attention to the health-bars when I perform the k!ll!ng arts (and the exclamation points when I try to avoid some meta system stuff lmao)
