Can you speedrun a speedrun?
6I made a thing. I hope people like it. I didn't do the greatest speedrun of all time or anything but maybe someone else will try this concept and that would make me happy. Toree 3D is definitely an enjoyable game to play just for fun too. I put lots of effort in so make sure to let me know what you think. Thank you have a good day.
Full Text:
First, you must choose a game of which you have no familiarity with, no previous viewing or recognition of the game you are going to speedrun. (You are allowed to watch a trailer for the game to get a general understanding of the type of game before selecting it)
Second, You must be able to perform 3 tricks/timesaves in a given speedrun by the time of completion. This is subjective and vague but games and tricks/saves can vary wildly. You need to “learn” the speedrun while completing the speedrun. The number of tricks/timesaves can change given the length and complexity of a game/run which can be determined by the community of the game.
Third, Learn and and share one fun fact about the game during the run. This should be pretty simple to do as you will have to research the game while playing to complete it faster. The more difficult part is remembering to do it and not forget about it.
Fourth, you only have one shot at placing a time in any given category for that particular game. You are not allowed to attempt again in this format because you must not have knowledge of the game you are about to play. Shadow emphasizes fast and right.
Fifth, time begins when starting the given game or when control is given to the player, dependent on which is more appropriate for the given game. You mustn't have any relevant tabs, bookmarks, copy and pastes, etc. ready for walkthroughs or guides before starting the game. Must search manually for resources. Use incognito browsing.
Important notes:
You are allowed to use any external resource which helps you gather information on the run to allow you to complete it. (Videos, Forums, Social Media, Discord calls, etc)
In accordance with the above note, you must complete the speedrun on your own, a secondary person cannot assist in searching for resources on your behalf.
When interacting or searching with outside resources on the computer, it must be captured in recording, you can switch scenes but must not be playing the game if it cannot be seen, for this reason I recommend playing with both resources and game on the same monitor to be fast.
