451The Canadian Food Challenge!
My homies Exploring with Josh and Exploring with Cody were in Mexico City (my new stomping ground) so I thought I'd surprise them with a Eating Canadian Food Challenge. We met up with my friend Ale Ivanova, and I pulled all the East Coast Canada treats out of my closet for this special occasion. Not all of them are delicious, which made it a bit funny. That's the point of a challenge!
I'm from the province of New Brunswick, and some of these are specialties from that area of the country. We call it the Maritimes, or Atlantic Canada. Here are the things we ate:
Chicken Bones - A Cinnamon and chocolate candy that people eat during Christmas.
Bloody Caesar - A Hangover drink with Clamato Juice (Clam+Tomato), vokda, and a bunch of other spices.
Dulse - A famous red seaweed that is dried on the shores of the ocean. Very salty, very fishy.
Maple Cream - A block of maple sugar, which is usually soft. This one is expired.
Poutine - aka Fat Salad. Maybe Canada's most famous dish. French Fries, Gravy, Cheese.... mmmmMmmmm
