Channing Tatum's portrayal of Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine opens the door for other canceled Marvel movie characters to finally make their live-action debuts in the MCU. Tatum initially auditioned to play Remy LeBeau, also known as Gambit, in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand*, but the character was ultimately cut, and a different version appeared in *X-Men Origins: Wolverine*.
