Hi chat
Today we're doing a bit of trickery
So there's a small funny issue with VGen and ZH (iirc it works on ZH too, i'm too lazy to start it to see if it works) which allow u to get a map file (.map) without using any software but the game itself
It's useful if u wanna work on these maps, as example to see how the cutscenes/scripting is made, look to the texturing, map design, etc..
U will be able to play 'em in skirmish mode (go to custom maps in ur game) if u change the name in the worldbuilder (Edit - Map Settings)

1) start the map
2) save it
3) close ur game, go eat a pain au chocolat, take a shower and watch girls und panzer
4) launch the game
5) load the saved file
6) now alt-tab to ur desktop
7) open ur windows browser thing and go to C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Save
8) you will see a .map file amongst your .sav files. Copy the .map file
9) go to C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Maps and create a new folder here, name is as u wish
10) Paste the .map file in this folder you've just created
11) Open your map using the worldbuilder - you may need to tell it to find the map as i had to do in the video, using the "browse" option in the "open" menu
12) Stonks

btw yea song is ingame, here is how to do it

1) you need to get your song in .mp3 format. Use an editing software if you have it in another format, rename it doesnt work as it's a question of codec iirc
2) copy your song
3) go to your game folder, as example
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\Command and Conquer Generals
or
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Command and Conquer Generals
in this folder, you'll see a folder named "Data". Open it.
4) Now that you're in this Data folder, create a new folder inside, named Audio. In this Audio folder, create a folder named Tracks. Drop your song in this Tracks folder.
5) You need to rename your song to one of the tracks the game uses, as it will "replace" the one used in the game - if you remove your song, the game track will be used again, so no worries. Basically the one you manually add have a higher priority than the one used "by default" in game.
Game tracks are names such as USA_01, you can find tracks names in game files. if you're too lazy to open a big editor (no shaming, i am too lazy for it too) go to your map editor. Go to scripts (i assume u know where it's located, right?) and make a new script, then go in the 'actions if true/false" tab and go to the multimedia section. Choose one of the scripts abt music, and u will get a list of all tracks used ingame. Choose one of these names to rename the custom song u wanna play ingame.
6) Stonks.

Textwalls are back yay
