Part 1/1 of Operation: Red Revolution in my C&C Red Alert 2 Hard - Soviet walkthrough.

For supposedly being the hardest level in the game according to many people who've played it, it isn't that hard at all. Red Alert 1 was HARD this game hasn't been really.

Anyway, I take the Kirovs along the edge of the map, blow up the Nuclear Reactor and head for the Kremlin approach, but unlike others I've seen, I've managed to keep my base in a good condition.

Start by sending your Conscripts to the north to garrison the buildings, also send your Kirovs east to the forest where you should place them in anticipation of patrolling units. Get 3-4 Sentry Guns as well as an Engineer as soon as your Barracks is placed. You then want to tech up to Kirovs, using your War Factory whilst waiting to produce 3-4 extra Miners. Once you have a Battle Lab build 1-2 Kirovs extra, and when ready group all your Kirovs on the left edge of the map, but leave a small gap between them if you can, to avoid splash damage from Flaks. When you have your Kirovs, capture the outpost near where the two defending the pass were and place a few Tesla Coils and Sentry Guns by it to help defend this route. You also might want to place a few defences by the Tesla Coil to deal with the troops that approach from there. Anyway, once your Kirovs have finally slugged the way to the west edge of the map, send them straight up to near the top of the map. It's likely you'll lose one and have one more either dead or close to, from the Flak Cannons. It doesn't matter though, once you're about 3/4 of the way north up the map, head north east to the purple base, and head east of the Tesla Reactors and blow up the Nuclear Reactor, disabling all their defences. It's then a simple case of chugging your way slowly there.

This level isn't too hard if you choose the ground assault or protect for 3 nukes route. Just keep alot of Apocalypse Tanks for base assault, and some weaker units like Flak Tracks to scout ahead for Psycorps bait, their defences won't be too strong (after all they're Soviets). You could also use Terror Drones for the Psycorps, but Flak Tracks can be more useful for helping with the Infantry, and won't damage your Apocalypses much if they get mind controlled. Be VERY aware that if you choose the Nuke route, they will constantly send Kirovs at you, which will be a bit of a pain to deal with. 6 Grouped Flak Cannons at the north side and the east side of your base would deal with these easily, but to be safe use your Apocalypse Tanks to help. A bigger worry defensively will be the Iron Curtained units, which mainly are either Rhinos or almost all the time, Terror Drones. Couple that with the Psycorps and it's annoying, though not too hard. 4-6 Tesla Coils backed up by Tesla Troopers as well as a few Apocalypse Tanks and Flak Cannons would be sufficient, but have Terror Drones of your own for Psycorps hunting. Build a Service Depot. too, it iwill remove Terror Drones, even if they would still be under the effect of the Iron Curtain.
