In-car monitoring: Surveillance technology that will make your car less private. Cars will soon adopt radar and lasers inside the cabin to monitor who you are and what you do.

Millimeter wave radar is perhaps the most intriguing in-car detection tech. Because its frequency is so high and, therefore, emitted wavelength so short, the apparatus itself can be very compact.

Face monitoring via vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) can pick up eye and gaze state, as well as the identity of the person behind the wheel. Its basically Apple FaceID for cars.
