Castlevania: Bloodlines is a platform game developed and published by Konami in 1994 for the Sega Genesis. It is part of the Castlevania series and features traditional Castlevania gameplay with six levels of monster-infested dungeons that you must overcome. The game is also known as Vampire Killer in Japan and Castlevania: The New Generation in Europe and Australia1.
The game’s plot revolves around a vampire named Elizabeth Bartley, who is orchestrating the beginning of World War I as a sacrificial war to bring her uncle, Dracula, back to life. Players take on the role of Quincey Morris’ son, John, and his friend Eric Lecarde to take up the fight against evil. The game was developed as a unique Castlevania experience tailor-made for the Genesis, with gameplay that was made more fast-paced and action-oriented. The music from Castlevania: Bloodlines was composed by Michiru Yamane, who would later continue to work on several other games in the series, including Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
