Castlevania Fighter - You're a Wizard, Shanoa (Albus Playthrough Hard)
I originally thought that Albus was supposed to have a brotherly relationship with Shanoa but then I read that Iga based their relationship off his own with his wife so ???
Amateur Dumbledore Tips
- Albus is a keepaway character who's strongest against huge, relatively static enemies. Due to his poor start-up and recovery times, he absolutely hates fast moving enemies who get up in your face, so save a Rosary for Evil Richter and (ironically) Albus if possible.
- Albus actually has two basics involving his pistol, which is an actual ranged projectile that can travel full screen though the damage's terrible. The C version can be rapid-fired and has significantly improved start-up / recovery times but drains MP like crazy, so it's mostly only useful for a burst to finish off the boss at the end. The A Version costs no MP and is pretty much worse in every way. That's it.
- MP Management is extremely important for Albus due to his pretty awful basics - if you run out of MP and your opponent still has a large HP pool left you're kinda boned.
- The useful subweapons are Acerbatus, which is used like a Cross subweapon in that you want the enemy to be at a very specific distance where they'll take multiple hits from the projectile (usually 2, sometimes 3). It also has a massive hitbox that's perfect for clearing out enemy projectiles ahead of you.
- The other useful subweapon is Ignis (fireballs), if you need to shotgun at close range.
- Albus can Warp with Y in any direction, a powerful mobility tool, but it drains MP like crazy, so while you can certainly constantly chain it for giggles that's going to be a bad idea real soon.
- SPINNING BIRD KICK (QCF + A/C) is a very good anti-air move - stand directly under the enemy and hold Up during startup to make him rise higher and get more hits in. If you hold forward during startup it'll instead propel him in that direction, which could be useful given that it has 100% invincibility frames.
- Torpor (FF + A/C) can be cost-efficient in terms of damage/MP on particularly static ground bosses but is generally a very niche move.
- Multiple Torpor (HCF + A/C) is god awful and I hate it because I always accidentally perform it and waste huge amounts of MP.
- Optical Shot (U, QCF + A/C) deals heavy damage on huge bosses which can be constantly hit multiple times by the projectiles, but it has its uses on smaller enemies as the dark bullet inflicts Curse (MP Drain). An example would be Stella, who is significantly neutered without MP.
- Item Crash is essentially Optical Shot, but instead of a spiral pattern it homes onto the enemy's position. The projectile speed is very slow so try to use it during the times where you know the boss is going to stay still for a while instead of flying across the entire screen.
- Shanoa did yah put yah glyphs in the goblet of fiyah
