2I believe the game expects the player to do Skeleton Cave before Luminous Cavern to get Double Jump I just instinctively go left for progression. I actually didn't realize I had to hit the skull in my first playthrough and was stuck on it. Then I always forget where the second transporter gate is, I just need to get in the habit of doing Skeleton Cave first as that should solve my issues.
