Now that we're in the final part of the castle we can fill up the rest of the map. The boss of this area is a Mummy but it was easily dispatched with the use of the crissaegrim. We then head to the center of the castle and head into the the final battle. At first your met by Shaft which makes sense because he was the one who held power over Richter and he's Dracula's right hand. But he was just a distraction so that Dracula could be resurrected once again. As promised I took on the final battle with a regular sword. I thought I was safe a few times that he swiped at me but I definitely got hit more than I recalled. I always enjoyed this battle because of the aesthetics it was always a trippy background. But to see Dracula in this form was really cool to me. They did a really good job of using depth so you felt like even though it was 2D they were further away. Taking down his father the castle is destroyed and Alucard makes his way out. He meets up with Maria and Richter for one last goodbye. But Maria doesn't want him to be alone so she chases after him. So the land is free for now from the curse of Dracula. We saved the world again friends!! Hands down one of the best games I've ever played. I was so happy to be able to share this with you and I hope that if you've not played any of these games this might convince you to try them out. I won't deny you though if you go all the way back it's a different level of platforming. They didn't really introduce the RPG element till this one. But as a whole Castlevania will always be a favorite for me. If you do enjoy this game and would like similar style Castlevanias you can find quite a few on the Nintendo handhelds. Portraite of Ruin, Dawn of Sorrow, Order of Ecclesia, Arria of Sorrow, Harmony of Dissonance just to name a few if you'd like to check those out as well.
