Celeste Analysis | The Hardest Climb of All | CHAPTER SELECT
18Celeste is a game by Extremely OK Games, formerly Matt Makes Games, all about a girl climbing a mountain through a series of increasingly tough platforming challenges. Released to great acclaim in 2018, the game received praise for its handling of themes of mental illness.
As someone who has dealt with mental health issues of my own, I decided to examine what Celeste does well, using my own journey to help illustrate the game's story. This is an intensely personal video for me, but also a celebration of an excellent game with a great message.
