342TheCGBros Presents - "ILLAMAR" - by Salty Melon - A young Inuit boy lived independently on his own. One day while he was fishing for dinner, he encounters an oblivious walrus that keeps getting in his way. Little did he know through the havoc would he understand the meaning of friendship.
The inspiration for ILLAMAR:
Our story is inspired by the current state of Inuits or commonly known as, Eskimos. Inuits in our modern era are going extinct and many have to retire from their homes forcing them to move into cities while abandoning their culture and lifestyle due to obvious cases of global warming. It is very hard for them now to survive out there where ice is breaking and source of food are scarce.
So in our story, we show a small Inuit boy fishing alone showing how little Inuits there are left. The fight between the walrus and the boy shows how tough survival can be out there but of course, there are still a glimmer of hopes for them if only we acknowledge this threat and help preserve their culture and life.
Illamar means friend in their language, Inuttitut.
