Originally released to arcades, Air Buster was brought to the TurboGrafx-16 as Aero Busters before finally arriving on the SEGA Genesis a year later. Largely a standard side-scrolling shoot ‘em up, Air Buster neatly checks off every genre convention on the list—in a good way. It’s a fast-paced trip through the year 2021, where you have to blow things up to stop an invasion or something. Come on, it’s a side-scrolling shoot ‘em up, you know how these things go. Featuring lots of cool power-ups and a ruthless difficulty, Air Buster offers single-player and local multiplayer play on the SEGA Genesis.
