No longer just a legend, spoken in hushed tones, known only to the hardestcore of the hardcore, Shantae is finally available to the masses via the 3DS Virtual Console, finally liberated from the nether realm of its meager original release. This adventure of a bellydancing half-genie, trying to protect priceless treasures from a megalomaniacal lady-pirate, was one of the last games developed commercially for 8-bit hardware and has developed quite the cult following.
