Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Skater Cat on the eShop for the Nintendo 3DS developed by Fun Unit and published by Teyon.
If you're a crazy cat lady who happens to really like runner games, Skater Cat is going to blow your mind. It's about a cat who—spoiler alert—is a skater. This eShop runner is fairly straightforward in its design, as the cat skates forward automatically and players are simply in control of jumping, but Skater Cat also adds a few interesting twists. The more cats you collect, the faster you skate, which helps you make a faster time. However, if you don't also collect kitty treats, your cats will slowly leave you and you'll then lose speed. So there's a lot of stuff to focus on in Skater Cat, not to mention the crazy obstacle courses you're actually trying to skate through. The game also has a wonderful art style similar to Super Paper Mario, combining flat 2D graphics with simple 3D elements. Skater Cat is a single-player runne—er, skater.
