The Micro came to the market in 2005, actually a year after the release of the Nintendo DS, so initially this handheld didn't do too well on the market. Interest has picked up over the years due to the handheld's compact design, good battery life, and backlit screen. This special edition marked the 25th anniversary of Mario! The Micro only plays GBA games.
