CHALLENGE | VERSATILE TERRAIN - CUSTOM NAMEPLATE | MINIATURE PAINTING 🦀
0I anticipated that I'd enjoy painting the challenge nameplate from Versatile Terrain - I didn't imagine how 'into it' I'd get! 🦀
Building up a corroded surface using texture paints, I airbrushed several brown & gold metallic layers using colours from The Army Painters Warpaints Air range. The Iwata Eclipse HP-BH handled these paints straight from the bottle - no thinning required.
The next stage involved using Dark Skin Wash from TAP's Flesh Tones set to create material variance and add greater contrast around the text. This wash contains wonderful hues of purple in its depths that work well with the yellow metallic.
Finally, a gradient of TAP's Speed Paint Plasmatic Bolt created a weathered look to this underwater nameplate - my homage to the BIOSHOCK video game logo.
