I think that Crossroads IV is not the best place to be attempting this. It's amazing how much the walls in the other crossroads (crossroadses?) reduce the amount of chaos to deal with. A more deliberate approach might still make this work, when I'm not in such a hurry.

I'm not even sure whether or not I noticed that other Hive, either. I think I did, but got driven away by the reptiles, but it's possible I just didn't notice it taking up half the screen. In editing I remember thinking "did that really happen?"
